"Ice Cube"

The story behind the Photo:

This photograph is part of my “Tamiami Trail” project. The ice machine is located on the trail in Nokomis. While, I have passed this ice machine many times, I did not see the potential until I drove past at night. The actual photograph was inspired by a similar film shot by Nick Carver.

I arrived well before morning ‘Blue Hour’ to frame the composition. Then it was a matter of waiting until the ambient light became closer to the man-made light. During that early morning time, the machine was busy as fisherman stopped to fill up with ice for their days outing. But I did get a break and was able to get a few got shots in some incredible morning light.
